Hopefully this turns out to be more bark than bite, but I have seen some ~things~ floating around the internet regarding states purging voters from voter rolls.
I assume this is more critical in swing states but hey, let’s take a few moments right now to confirm we’re registered or to update our address just to be safe.
I recommend entering “Check voter registration + [your state]” into Google to find your state-specific website. I first tried on Vote.org and they couldn’t find me, plus I had to agree to receive email communications from them which I hate.
Then I looked myself up on Illinois’ Voter Registration Lookup tool & it confirmed I’m registered at my current address! (They did misspell my middle name when I registered a few years ago but we’ll solve that problem another day.)
Here are some other helpful resources to keep in mind as Election Day draws near:

Enter your address to get a preview of what’s on your ballot on November 5
Even if you don’t want to vote for President, consider voting for the down-ballot races & local measures that will have an impact on your community
The Harris-Walz campaign probably doesn’t need your money; consider directing your money to other races where it can make a bigger impact
Make a voting plan with your friends! Studies show that “a friend-to-friend conversation about the upcoming election can increase the likelihood that a person will vote, because they know and trust their friend”1
Feel free to make a voting plan with me, if you need a friend! I’m probably going to vote early, in person, & I will probably cry!
