Back in 2015 I lost 45+ pounds through that extremely underwhelming combination of diet + exercise. While I've never been big on cookbooks or elaborate recipes, the pendulum swung very far to the "this is boring as fuck" end of the spectrum during that time. Grilled chicken + broccoli + rice = dinner five nights/week.
Three years later & I still mostly eat that way, though I've branched out & found a bit of variety.
Sauces are the best way I've found to keep things interesting for myself, and this Trader Joe's Sweet Chili Sauce is a recent discovery. Chicken sausage + bell peppers + onion + rice + sweet chili sauce = a slightly fancier dinner five nights/week.
Plus, the bottle is small enough that you'll actually use it instead of letting it expire on a shelf in your refrigerator door. (I know I'm not alone in this.)
