After much deliberation, I have settled on my very first 1 Thing: Elizabeth Holmes. Friends, I cannot stop talking about her.

She's the now-disgraced Silicon Valley darling & founder of Theranos, a start-up claiming to revolutionize blood testing with technology that could run dozens of routine tests with a single drop of blood taken from a finger prick. (Spoiler alert: they lied.)

Bad Blood by John Carreyrou, the Wall Street Journal reporter who broke the story of Theranos' fraudulent practices, is a wild read full of paranoia, private investigators, & political heavyweights who lost millions. HBO is releasing a documentary about the company on March 18th -- you better believe it's already on my calendar.
